Інформація про лектора:
Ferco Berger is a Dutch radiologist specialised in Emergency & Trauma Imaging. He focussed on this topic in the latter half of his radiology residency training at the AMC in Amsterdam, further specialising in this field through a fellowship in Vancouver, where he did a subsequent fellowship in MSK imaging.
He returned to the Netherlands in 2011 to set up the new division in Emergency & Trauma Radiology within a brand-new Emergency Department facility at the VU University Medical Centre. It is the largest Level 1 trauma centre in Amsterdam and the preferred provider of emergency and hospital care for the International Airport of Amsterdam, Schiphol.
In 2016 he moved to Toronto, Canada, to become the head of a new Emergency & Trauma Radiology division at the department of Medical Imaging of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, part of the University of Toronto. It is the largest Level 1 trauma centre in Canada with 675 of the 1325 beds dedicated to acute care (128 ICU). He is very excited to continue building a new service in a great city.
Dr. Berger is dedicated to trauma and emergency imaging in his teaching, research and clinical work and is Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, Associate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Deputy-Chief (operations) of the department of Medical Imaging in the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program at Sunnybrook.
Outside his institution, he has also been enthusiastically contributing to the societies representing the field of Emergency Radiology. He served on the board of the European Society of Emergency Radiology (ESER) since its founding in 2011, serves on the Executive Committee of the American Society of Emergency Radiology since 2018 (ASER member since 2007) and on the founding board of the Canadian Emergency, Trauma and Acute Care Radiology Society (CETARS) since 2020.
